When should I book my cake?

To avoid disappointment, Meraki Cakes suggests providing 6-12 weeks notice for wedding cakes and 3-6 weeks for corporate, birthday and other occasion cakes. During off-peak season (May – August) 2-3 weeks is adequate notice, and in exceptional cases, cakes may be turned around within the week so please do not hesitate to contact us.

How do I order a cake?

To start the order process, please fill our inquiry form or alternately contact us through our Facebook page. Please include all the following information:

  • the date of your event
  • the occasion (birthday, christening, wedding etc)
  • the event location, delivery address, and delivery time
  • how many people you will need to serve
  • your daytime phone number
  • your email address
  • an idea of what kind of cake design you are looking for

Please also include any pictures of reference you think may be of use.

What's your booking/payment policy?

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your order; the remainder is due at least two weeks prior to your event. Your order is not confirmed until we have received your agreement of contract and 50% deposit. Cake orders placed with less than two weeks' notice require payment in full at the time of ordering. 

If you cancel your order your balance is refundable minus an administration fee of $50, provided Meraki Cakes is notified at least fourteen (14) days prior to your event. There is no payment refund on orders cancelled within fourteen (14) days of the event.

What factors decided the price of my cake?

All cakes are priced on the number of servings you require, the size of servings (whether they are dessert serves or coffee servings), the flavours of your cake, icings and filling and the labour involved in any artistic elements on your cake.

Can you accommodate for food allergies / diet requirements?

We do have quite a few gluten free options available and allergies to nuts/dairy/soy/egg can be worked around. We are also committed to reducing our use of refined sugars.

Complaints and refunds.

We take great care to ensure your cake or order meets your expectations. However, due to factors like weather, availability of products, and time constraints, there may be minor adjustments. If any changes are necessary, we will do our best to inform you in advance. By paying your deposit and confirming your order, you are entrusting us with the creative flexibility to deliver the best possible cake under the circumstances. If you have any concerns about your cake, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us as soon as possible. - please note that there are no refunds for change of mind, and no partial or full refunds will be issued unless 80% of the product is returned in its original state, and within 24 hours - and then at the full discretion of Meraki Cake Design. 

Classes.

 All classes must be paid in full at the time of booking. Bookings can be made through our shopify store. Classes can be cancelled if less than the minimum number of students are available. We will try to give as much notice as possible and in this case, you will be issued a full refund.

For cancellations within a week refunds will only be issued if we can find someone else to take your place. There are no refunds for no shows.
